I little bit about myself.
I sketched continuously, from a very early age, and was lucky enough to get into the High School of Music and Art, in NYC, where I majored in art.
I then majored in art at the University of Miami for a year. My pursuit of a higher education in art was interrupted to raise a family, and when I finally went back to school to get further degrees- they were in Mathematics and Computer science, which led me to a very varied business career.
For the last 22 years I have returned to art and worked full-time as a sculptor. At the start I sculpted from life - figurative and portraiture. It was my objective to capture the drama and emotion of my subjects.
For the last 11 years, I have been working in abstract and am exploring sculpture in an entirely different way. I find it very thought provoking and exciting to work with new materials, form, shadow, and color in a way I had not before. Primarily, I am a Mixed Media artist, and I work with reclaimed wood and acrylic to achieve my sculptures. My work is very geometric, architectural, and colorful, often reflecting the urban environment in which I live.
